Learning Independent Living skills means learning how to meet the demands of everyday life.

This program is designed to assist & train the developmentally disabled individual in fulfilling and maintaining their lifestyle in their communities.

  • Provides opportunities for social emotional development skills for controlling emotions
  • Provides an atmosphere of love and acceptance
  • Provides consultation and training to help people acquire practical skills for home and community

Who is served by this program?

  • Any developmentally disabled person being served by their regional center.
  • Our program also meets the diverse needs of people with a variety of disabilities from ages 18 and older.
  • We also serve consumers with medical issues and who are judicially and forensically involved.

How does the program work?

  • The independent and supportive living provider works with the consumer to identify his or her needs and goals for achieving the greatest independence possible.
  • The services are provided one-to-one or in a group setting. Most of the services are provided in the consumer’s home and in a residential home. Staff will travel to a client, training & providing services at a client’s home, in a residential facility, or in the field.
